چکیده

A lot of troilite reaction rim textures formed through sulfidation of FeNi alloy of kamacite and taenite with sulfur rich gas have been identified especially in C03 unequilibrated carbonaceous chondrites. Troilite formation through sulfidation of FeNi alloy of kamacite and taenite with sulfur rich gas in the solar nebula is expected from the reaction kinetics as well as from the equilibrium condensation theory. On the other hand, heating experiments of mixtures including metallic iron grains and troilite powder show that troilite rim textures can be formed on chondrite parent body. Recent study shows that troilite reaction rim textures are more abundant for higher petrologic subtype (•¬ 3.2). This would mean that sulfidation of metallic iron would have also proceeded in CO3 parent body when petrologic subtype in C03s is due to thermal metamorphism in CO3 parent body.

Radar absorption of FeNi nanoparticles and FeNi@PANI nanocomposites prepared by in-situ polymerization

In this research, FeNi@PANI nanocomposites as the electromagnetic wave absorbers were prepared through two following steps. At first, FeNi alloy nanoparticles were synthesized by the one-pot polyol process, and then, in-situ polymerization method was used for the preparation of FeNi@PANI nanocomposite. The XRD pattern confirmed the formation of pure FeNi alloy with the FCC crystalline phase. Th...

Introduction: Equilibrated lithic clasts in unequilibrated chondrites probably represent thermal metamorphism in the early solar system before or during accretion of chondritic parent bodies. Lithic clasts with equilibrated features are rare in unequilibrated chondrites and their origins are not well-understood [1]. Recently, we observed an unusual lithic clast with thermal-metamorphosed featur...

Metal size distributions in EH and EL chondrites

[1] EL chondrites exhibit larger average metal grain sizes than EH chondrites, a difference attributed by Easton [1983] to metamorphic coarsening, as most EL chondrites are equilibrated, and most EH chondrites are unequilibrated. In this paper, we present metal grain size data for three unequilbrated EL3 chondrites (PCA 91020; ALH 85119; MAC 88180) , and three EH3 chondrites (ALH 84170; PCA 910...

Amoeboid Olivine Aggregates in CR Chondrites

Introduction: Amoeboid Olivine Aggregates (AOAs) are irregular-shaped, fine-grained aggregates of olivine and refractory minerals and are important components of C chondrites. The AOAs in CV chondrites have been interpreted to be primary nebular condensates [1] and therefore, can provide constraints on models for nebular condensation. AOAs are intermediate in composition, and may be a link, bet...

Iron-Nickel Sulfide Compositional Ranges in CM Chondrites: No Simple Plan

Introduction Iron-nickel sulfides are found in most or all solar system environments, and are probably the only minerals found in all extraterrestrial materials on hand. Despite this ubiquity, they have only just begun the attention they deserve. The most common Fe-Ni sulfides in chondrites are troilite (FeS), pyrrhotite (Fe 1-x S) and pentlandite (Fe,Ni) 9 S 8. Troilite is believed to have res...
